Growing goji berries made easy
Goji berries are gaining a lot of popularity due to their endless benefits. Some people like to eat dried goji berries while others like to have in the juice form. If you are wondering how to grow goji berries, read the following tips and grow them without any hassles. These plants grow to the fullest when they are planted outdoors and the good thing is that they can survive winters well.
If you do not find goji seeds in the market, purchase goji berries from the market. Soak these berries until they become soft to cut open for the seed removal. Place small seeds in fine strainers and rinse them. Dry goji seeds after you are done with rinsing and do not panic if some of these seeds do not germinate. Sprout the seeds before you plant by potting them in the damp paper napkin on a try and cover them until sprouts come out. You can plant the goji berry seeds in small pots filled sterilized seed starting mixture. Cover these seeds with a thin layer of soil until plant emerges. Cover pot with paper towel so that moisture is retained but do not forget to check these seeds everyday. Move seedlings to location where it gets enough sunshine to grow. When the plant is around two or there inches tall, you can replant them in a small container.
When the plant becomes large enough, plant them in larger containers with the organic soil or you can plant them in ground. You can mix the compost with soil so that young plant grows at its best in the nutrient rich soil. Spring is best time for planting goji berries. Just look for a location that gets enough moisture and has enough space to accommodate mature plant, and get started.
